SLI is the resource for those interested in Louisiana irises. Organized in 1941, this Society and its key members over the years have been largely been responsible for the growing popularity of these irises. Click here or above to go to the SLI site and the starting point for a wealth of information on Louisiana irises.
The Society was responsible for the definitive book on Louisiana irises, now in its second edition. Go here for information on this book.
Members of SLI receive a quarterly newsletter. More accurately, the SLI Newsletter is a full color quarterly magazine on Louisiana irises. It covers the latest cultivars, propagation and growing culture, Society activities and many other topics. The Newsletter is a great resource. With the Spring 2006 issue, the Newsletter's name will become Fleur de Lis, more fitting for a publication of this kind. Go to the Society for Louisiana Irises website for information on SLI and how to receive Fleur de Lis. |
